The new 2,500m² development houses Montreux Furniture’s boutique factory, designmade trade showroom, and office and staff spaces.

Located in a residential area, directly next door to an operational rest home, the project required limited disruption to the surrounding area. The design build project also included the issue of extremely poor ground quality, which was amended with stone column ground remediation. 

The cost effective design included a steel frame structure, insulated panel roof and precast concrete. Extensive use of cedar to visible elevations, creates a pleasant street-side view, and conceals the sheer size of the factories and showroom on the rear of the section. It also maintains the residential atmosphere of the neighbourhood. 

This project was completed to programme, and the clients are thrilled with their new premises.
