Colombo Street Kiwibank & Retail

This project involved the construction of Kiwibank’s central city retail centre and offices. There are also a number of independent retailers in this development.

The building has a footprint of 870m2, with a floor area totaling 2,600 m2 over three levels. It occupies a high profile site and was constructed at a time when many other significant builds were occurring in the CBD. This required Drumreed to undertake a high degree of coordination and communication with all stakeholders to ensure operational issues (access, security, parking and deliveries) and environmental issues (dust, noise, impact of works on neighbouring properties and movement of people) were well managed.

The building covers 98% of its site; its foundation slab was pumped in a single pour totaling in excess of 700m3 of concrete.

The success of the Kiwibank Retail Development project was due to Drumreed Construction’s unique approach to ECI, which focuses on people, technical and partnering benefits.
