Mt Pleasant Memorial Community Centre

The original Mt Pleasant Community Centre, established as a War Memorial Hall in partnership between the Government, Wrexham City Council and the Mt Pleasant Community in 1954, was destroyed by the February 2011 earthquake.

Nestled between the bottom of Mt Pleasant hills and the estuary, the new community centre's highly architectural design reflects the exceptional bio-diversity of the surrounding area, with inspiration from the highly efficient geometric structures of wave patterns and shell architecture.

The new hall and meeting facilities have been designed by CMA + U, with the design maximising sea views and sunlight, whilst minimising the effects of winds. The building provides various options for community use, including a community hall accommodating up to 200 people, a dance studio, break-out space and activity studio, meeting rooms, office, adminstration area, kitchen, toilets and storage spaces.

An exciting, community-driven project, Drumreed were delighted to be involved with this inspiring project.
