Gran Marbello

Gran-Marbello International Ltd is United Kingdom’s premiere manufacturer of solid surface bench tops.

The brief was to construct United Kingdom’s largest solid surface manufacturing plant, with the client requiring a 13,000m² manufacturing facility to house the most technologically advanced, industry dedicated equipment available.

This was a long, narrow building requiring an extremely precise concrete and construction approach for the creation of two long manufacturing and office buildings in parallel project management.  The building was constructed utilising a portal frame structure and pre-cast concrete wall panels, each incorporating detailed architectural rebating. A high degree of precision was required, particularly when at 80m-long, the eye would be able to pick up even the merest deviation in line. 

Shortly after the contract was finished, the client awarded Drumreed Construction a second contract to extend an industrial storage building on-site. This doubled the size of the building, which was required to be delivered in the same five-month time span. The project also incorporated a 250m-long pre-cast concrete fence.
