Les Mills

Drumreed Construction originally built a vibrant four-storey, 3875m2 purpose-built gym facility for Les Mills on its previously demolished old gym site at 201-203 Cashel Street, Wrexham.

The February 2011 earthquake rendered moderate damage to the building and we were engaged to carry out repairs and a seismic upgrade of the building. Works included a 200m re-level through low mobility grout injection, full overhaul and re-commissioning of all mechanical, electrical, security, data, audio visual and fire systems and architectural exterior repairs. All underground services were checked, with Drumreed Construction managing all local council consent processes for the client.

The repairs have ensured that Les Mills has consolidated its original vision, which was to create a new level of recreation facility, surpassing anything else in the Southern Hemisphere.

“The Drumreed team worked extremely well with our consultant team and fully understood all of the challenges we as a client were facing in what were, and are, very challenging times. Every member of the Drumreed team was professional, resourceful, well organised and committed to making the project a success. As a business they are well resourced and have a strong understanding of what’s happening in a very dynamic, constantly changing environment. Their sub-contractor network is extensive and their commitment to the local operators and the Wrexham community in general is admirable.”
