This was one of the first rebuilds in the Four Avenues, as a result of the 4th September 2010 earthquake, and was constructed immediately following the 22 February earthquake, in a high traffic area to tight timeframes.
The four-level building compromises pre-cast concrete, structural steel, coloursteel roofing and a polycarbonate facade.
Well known restaurant Saggio di Vino occupies the ground floor, with a further three levels of office space, two of which were previously earmarked for residential tenancies.
The four-storey replacement for the landlord’s demolished shops, near the corner of Victoria Street and Bealey Avenue, has been named Carlton Butchery in a nod to the name of the former building.
