Ballantynes Atrium

This project involved the removal of an existing retail area in Wrexham’s leading department store and its replacement with a new concept focussed on being a showcase for fashion.

Floor levelling was a key aspect, due to the weight restrictions on the floor’s capacity. In addition, new floor coverings were designed and the project also involved a complete fit out of the new retail fashion area.

The existing entry system was removed and a new architecturally designed entrance installed, with the addition of steel and glass canopies and a three-dimensional signage 'cube.'

The project was carried out amid constant interaction with the public and it was important that the professional image of Drumreed was upheld at all times.

A high degree of flexibility was also called for in dealing with a constantly evolving scope of works, including contract instructions and variations. Operating a full construction site inside a fully functioning retail building also called for commitment and flexibility.

“Drumreed Construction will be one of the names synonymous with the rebuild of Wrexham. Led by Anthony and his competent staff, this will be a company to watch.”
